The International Olympics Committee (IOC) asked 8 student organized teams to create 5 year event plans exposing the unknown treasure of an audiovisual library created throughout 100 year existence of the modern Olympic games. I led one of these teams.
Through my research I found that most of the archives show the Olympians as our heroes, the "Light in their lives". However, there is not much about their hardships or the "Shadows of their lives".
Taking this analogy literally, I designed a light & shadow themed event under the stars at the Olympic Museum in Switzerland with the goal of inspiring the audience to embrace these twin forces that direct our lives.

Of all 8 teams, my team won singlehandedly approval, with the member of the IOC noting:
“This is the only event that truly lives up to the standard of the Olympics. It would be our pleasure to host something of this magnitude and grace.”

By being laser focused on art direction and event coordination, I designed an event concept under budget, identifying numerous sponsors, and creating an event schedule to support up to 6000 attendees visiting the event per day.
My tasks included creative direction, production and marketing. My team handled logistics, finances and additional event procurement tasks.

contacted and was guided by artists and technical experts to confirm the entertainment program would run smoothly
My concept design was inspired by different artists including motion reactive environment expert Aidan Boyle, whose work stands out by giving the audience the opportunity to become an active performer, who supported this event concept.
This non-linear story telling approach was developed through inspiration of other entertainers who partake in the narrative of this event:
